Q: What is Writer of the Week?
A: Writer of the Week is a video feature interview with you about your life and your book/s. The questions are tailored to you and you can provide images / video that I edit in to accompany the interview and create a visual portrait that highlights and showcases your unique life, talents and achievements.
Writer of the Week appears on the first or second page of Google search results (click to see example) and forms an ongoing video advertisement for your book.
When added to your media kit and YouTube channel it encourages other media outlets to feature you, because they can see you on camera and allows you to polish your media appearance skills.
Writer of the Week interviews also create unique content for your social media, newsletters and blog, for fans and readers to engage and connect with you and get to know you better.

A: Yes, here is an example of Writer of the Week:
What does it include?
- A one-on-one video interview with you that includes a book excerpt reading and six questions that I send you prior to the interview, for you to give input on and adapt if you wish.
- A social media image for your Writer of the Week interview, for you to promote on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
- A custom YouTube thumbnail or cover image to showcase your interview and encourage people to click on it.
- I will promote your interview on all my social media channels.
- I will also send you the link for you to promote it.
- You will be sent the video embed code for you to feature the video on your website.
- It will also be embedded on our News & Interviews blog page as well as Writer of the Week page.
Q: What is the value of being Writer of the Week?
- Writer of the Week appears on the first or second page of Google search results.
- It can be an important part of any marketing campaign, getting word out there, going viral, getting seen on multiple platforms, getting traffic, content shares and visitors to your book sales page.
- Video is some of the most important content on the web and drives more views and traffic than any other content (the interview is video).

YouTube is owned by Google and is one of the largest search engines in the world. Your video interview will be tagged with your book name, your name and relevant categories so people can then find you on YouTube. - There will be a link to your website, article and Amazon sales page in the YouTube description as well, which will drive traffic to all those pages.
- I will provide you with the YouTube video embed code, so you can embed the interview in a web page or blog post, which will give you content for your blog.
- You can add it to your media page and media kit, and also include in your marketing campaign that you are Writer of the Week, by Universal By Design.
- A back link created by my promoting your interview on LinkedIn, which is very important for Search Engine Optimization. This can also, can lead to high traffic if you re-share and also post your interview.
Q: How does it work exactly?
A: 1) I will create and send you the interview script for you to see beforehand, as well as give input on the questions if you’d like them adapted in any way.
2) We will do a sound and video check a few days or a week before the interview, then schedule the date and time to conduct the interview.
3) The recording is done by Zoom Video Conference, you will need to create a free account at www.Zoom.us
4) At the time of the interview, I will e-mail you the Zoom link. You need to be signed into your Zoom account, and when you click on that link it will take you into the Zoom room.
5) We will conduct the interview, then I will edit it, publish it, and share it on my social media channels, tagging you. Then I’ll send you the video link, promotional image for social media, and code to embed it on your blog / website.
Q: What does it cost?
A: To be Writer of the Week costs $169, to cover the costs of doing the sound and video check pre-interview test, advising you on background set, lighting. Then researching to create the interview questions, sending you the final script, conducting the interview, editing the video, rendering the video, uploading it online, graphic design to create the thumbnail and social media promotional image, embedding the video code, promoting it on social media, sharing the links and embed code with you. This takes upwards of 30 hours for each Writer of the Week feature interview.
