ABOUT SUSAN LOWE
Susan Lowe, born in Fresno, California, is a licensed marriage and family therapist with 27 years’ experience, a college instructor who has taught psychology materials at all levels, and has served as county mental health compliance officer. Realizing that her mother had lived through an often-untold portion of history, she wanted to honor survivors of these horrific events by sharing their story. JOSIE: A Story of Faith and Survival, a true story, is her first book. Josie Dreams of Freedom, is under contract.
ABOUT HEIDI THOMAS
Heidi M. Thomas grew up on a working ranch in eastern Montana, riding and gathering cattle for branding and shipping. Her parents taught her a love of books, and her grandmother rode bucking stock in rodeos.
She followed her dream of writing, with a journalism degree from the University of Montana. Heidi is the author of the award-winning five novels and Cowgirl Up: A History of Rodeo Women. She makes her home in North-Central Arizona.

Beautifully written story. I found it very interesting and eye opening to learn about the aftermath of World War II from the point of view of Germans who were not pro-Nazi. My heart particularly ached reading about the atrocities that Josie and her family faced.

Cowgirl Dreams
The voice of the protagonist was so real! Probably because it was based on the author’s grandmother, a Montana cowgirl who actually rode steers in rodeos.
