Q: How does this help me with Google rankings and building my Author Authority?
- It forms a permanent advertisement for you online that continues to perform after publication. It is indexed by Google and will be permanently displayed in search results, as well as Video search results.
- The video will increase your Author Authority on Google (which will drive up your Google ranking). Author Authority is the metric by which Google confirms identity across platforms. In this day and age, with so much online content, people changing social media accounts etc., it’s difficult for Google to know who is actually a real person. Having your content and name indexed across multiple platforms, including video, makes you rank higher because Google can confirm your online presence.
Q: How do they work exactly?
A: 1) You will need to open a free account with the video conferencing software www.Zoom.us
2) Before the panel, I will do a video and sound check with each author individually, by video conference, to make sure all their equipment and setup is optimized so everything runs smoothly.
3) I will create a panel script listing all the panelists, some panel instructions (example eye contact with camera etc.) and the panel questions, which I will e-mail to everyone.
4) At the time of the panel, I will send each author a link to the Zoom room by Facebook messenger and/or e-mail. Clicking on it will take you into the Zoom room.
5) We will do a five-minute meet and greet then recording will begin. Each panel is about 30 minutes.
6) After recording, I will edit the video then send everyone the YouTube link to post. I will also create and send each panelist a social media image for promotion.
7) Everyone will share the panel link in their blog posts, social media and newsletters, to get as many views as possible.
8) The discussion panel will be indexed by Google and linked to your name and can be added to your YouTube channel and media kit.
