ABOUT C.J. McGroarty
C.J. McGroarty is a former reporter for The Philadelphia Inquirer with an MFA in Creative Writing. Her debut novel, Clara in a Time of War, set during the American Revolution, was published in 2022 by Atmosphere Press. Her second novel, The House on Chambers Road, is forthcoming in 2024 from Literary Wanderlust.
With an itch for history, C.J. volunteers as a tour guide at Historic Waynesborough, an 18th-century manor house that continues to inspire and inform her stories. When not writing, she reads (all sorts of fiction), gardens (phlox and true geranium, please!), walks (neighborhood streets or leafy trails), and spends time with her husband, Jim (the most courageous person she has ever known), and their cat, Lily (the smartest feline she has ever known).
